Alex and Megan's journey began on 21 July 2021, when they matched on Hinge (how very modern) where Megan's prompt "What's your favourite Taylor Swift song?" caught Alex's eye. Determined to capture Megan’s attention, Alex spent two hours carefully crafting his top 5 list. Megan, clearly impressed, took two business days to respond.

Once Alex had jumped through Megan’s various hoops, conversation flowed freely and after many texts and then voice notes, plans were made for a first date. However, Anna and COVID had other ideas and a planned first meet for coffee was off the cards. Eager as ever, Alex proposed a walk at Kangaroo Point with Winnie as chaperone and Megan agreed. Even with masks on they felt ‘Sparks Fly’ and plans were quickly made for more dog walks much to Winnie’s delight.

After what felt like an eternity (it was only a week), Anna lifted the lockdown and the rest is history. Only a few months later and they took the next big step and Megan became Alex’s landlord.

On 7 April 2023, with the help of some special friends (and Winnie), Alex planned a surprise at Kangaroo Point that Megan had figured out several weeks earlier. He got down on one knee and asked Megan to spend the rest of their lives together. With Winnie’s blessing, Megan of course said yes.

Since then, the pair have added another grood to their brood in Paddington, and in a full circle moment, got to experience the best night of their lives - seeing TayTay in concert.
